Tim Tebow: Divine Intervention?
Here at Student Alpha we love to hear stories of interesting things happening around the world...So imagine our excitement when we heard the whole story about Tim Tebow...
...Tim Tebow is the quarterback (an American footballer for those of us who aren’t fully aware of the technical terms) for the Denver Broncos. And he’s a Christian.
'The commentators are stunned, the crowds thrilled and the critics confused.'
Tebow has been associated promoting the verse “John 3:16” throughout his career. For example he has often painted the verse on his eye black (a grease which is applied by American football players to reduce the glare in the stadium) which we at Student Alpha towers think is obviously very cool.
However this Sunday something extraordinary happened and now everyone’s talking about it.
The commentators are stunned, the crowds thrilled and the critics confused. Tebow passed for 316 yards, in over time, to win the wildcard game against the Pittsburg Steelers…..pretty cool huh!?... To add to this, he averaged 31.6 yards per toss.
Is it divine intervention or extremely strange coincidences? A recent poll revealed that 43% of those who know about Tebow believe that the divine has something to do with it....
'Prayer Pose'
According to our top sources (ok, we mean wikipedia...) John 3:16 was the top search item on Google the next morning, followed by Tebow and Tim Tebow. Does that means ‘John 3 16’ has become a hotter search on google than ‘Beyonce’s baby’! Incredible.
Whatever you think about all these weird and wonderful goings on, we have to agree that the best thing about Tebow is that he’s not afraid to tell the world about his faith.
He is renowned for his “prayer pose” and always thanks God before all others when interviewed about his success.
