Student Alpha

Every year, around this time, as summer starts to draw to an end and the autumn term kicks into gear, we here in the Student Alpha office start getting excited about running our very own annual Central London Student Alpha course. This year, not only are we running the course in the heart of South Kensington on home turf (at St Paul Onslow Sqaure), we also have the added bonus of being able (for the very first time) to film our live course talks every Friday night. The hope for this is that as well as running our own course for loads of students all over London, we will also be able to equip many more courses happening around the UK and beyond, by putting the films up onto this blog site each week. The course will kick off with a launch party on Friday 2nd October and on the following Friday 9th October, our seven week Student Alpha Course will begin with ‘Who Is Jesus?’ I will be giving the talks each Friday and they will be uploaded here the following Tuesday, so anyone around the world can have access to the course materials at the click of a button. Our hope and prayer is that by uploading each talk, we will see an explosion of small group courses and home courses starting, as students grab some pizza, watch the talk on a laptop, and have discussions in their lounge/kitchen/hall/common room ... you get the idea. How does God guide me to make the most of the rest of my life?   And finally, as mentioned before, the launch party for this Central London Student Alpha course is just under two weeks away, on Friday 2nd October. It looks set to be a really fun event with a couple of home grown bands playing live, a DJ and a free burger and beer for the first 300 people through the church doors. We are hoping it will be packed! So, if you are in London and want to bring friends along, we’d love to see you.
